21 December 2018
All the team at BS7 gym would like to wish our members a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
At this time of year, we’re often working hard to get some turkey credits in the bank before the big blowout, while also looking ahead to the new year and our goals and aspirations that go with it. It is also important to review how our training has gone this previous year, how we have progressed towards our goals and what changes we can make, to training programmes or goals, in order to continue to progress and develop.
A look back at the gym through 2018 shows an exciting journey with much achieved to progress the gym and member experience for all, while looking ahead reveals exciting developments still to come and goals to be achieved.
So, what does the review of 2018 reveal? Starting with the Studio, we have put in a new fitness floor for improved performance in our range of classes and additional equipment to enhance training options both during and outside of classes. The gym reception and corridor has been redecorated and had new “natural” LED lighting installed, along with the studio and two CV rooms to provide a nicer, more stimulating training environment. Our range of fixed resistance machines have been replaced with brand new equipment, Spin bikes have been renewed and more added along with a new sound and microphone system and to enhance the Spin experience.
Looking ahead to 2019, we are really excited to be opening a brand new gym development as we unveil our new open plan fitness area currently under construction in the previous cricket net area.
This new facility will greatly enhance the training experience at BS7 gym, bringing new equipment not currently available, adding more options for training with popular kit and enhancing capacity as well as training experience.
This new facility, due to open from 7th January, will blend the best of traditional training, functional approaches and strength and conditioning to create a unique fitness area serving all training requirements. There will be a CV offering comprising of new and different kit such as self-powered treadmill and Assault bikes. Resistance training will include integrated Olympic lifting platforms, lifting racks, dumbbells, benches and fixed stations such as glute/hamstring extension and incline leg press.
A central track provides options for sprint work including sled pulls and plyometric activities. At the near end, an open floor studio will provide classes and be equipped with the likes of kettlebells, suspension trainers and other items of small kit to be used in the classes and will be free to use outside of classes. Once this new fitness areas is operational it will allow us to take over the current cricketers training room and create a separate Spin studio and move the bikes off of the gym floor to further enhance to experience in a bespoke setting.
The floor in reception and the corridor is due to be replaced early in the new year which will help to improve the feel of the areas, as well as enhance the lighting and modernise the look of the gym.
The new BS7 gym website is now live, offering improved functionality as well as improved look and feel. As you will no doubt be aware, we have already expanded the fitness team further and you will be able to view profiles for both Adam Galway and David Gallardo along with the rest of the team.
To compliment the personalities and skills we have within the team, we will also be launching a new class timetable when we resume classes on Saturday 5th January. This will include old favourites such as Spin, body conditioning and Yoga, as well as exciting new classes including Exercise to music, MMA and Pilates. The new website will contain all the latest offerings and info, as well as the members on-line booking portal.
On a final note, we would just like to remind all members of the extra benefits associated with BS7 gym membership.
