“I was so pleased to finish the walk, my legs have only just recovered and it has been 5 days since the Three Peak Challenge! Although it was extremely difficult, the atmosphere within the group was fantastic and that made the whole experience memorable”
The team began the day with a 5am wake up and then went on to begin the climb of the first peak Pen-y-Ghent (694m) at 7am. Next was the climb of Whernside (736m) and then onto Ingleborough (723m). The BS7 team completed the race in various times from 9 hours to 12 hours. An excellent achievement.
David “It was a fantastic feeling to finish the challenge, everyone was applauding each other at the bottom of the third peak whilst the medals were given out. The whole day felt like a real moment of companionship. Over 300 people took part, all for a great cause ” "Looking up at the peak of the third mountain was probably the worst moment and mentally exhausting, but there was no way I wasn’t going to finish it!”
If you see any of the team around the gym, take a second to congratulate them and if you haven’t yet sponsored them they would still be grateful for any donations.
Jules will be organising a similar event next year, so speak to her for information on what the next BS7 challenge will be.
