Peak Performance Physio who are based at BS7 Gym are adding a new Pilates class to their timetable. A new class will run on Thursday mornings at 10am. This new class will begin on Thursday 5 November.

Pilates taught by Peak Performance Physio uses the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) method. This is a form of dynamic stabilisation retraining that improves posture and movement patterns from the central core. This type of Pilates is designed especially for people who have had back pain or injuries or require specialist physiotherapy attention.

The repertoire of APPI Pilates exercises also include exercises to improve spinal mobility, flexibility of the key trunk and lower limb muscles groups, body awareness and postural awareness.

  • Neutral lumbo-pelvic alignment and activation of the key lumbo-pelvic stabilising muscles
  • Correct ribcage/thoracic alignment
  • Scapulo-thoracic stabilisation
  • Deep neck flexor retraining to stabilise the cervical spine.

Classes take place in the Studio within BS7 gym.
