BS7 Gym Business Development Manager, Nathan Walsh, and Jack Smith BS7 Staff Member have signed up for a mammoth bike ride to raise money for the Bristol & Avon Multiple Sclerosis Centre (BrAMS) – a charity who run specialist weekly physiotherapy sessions at BS7 Gym to help people who have just been diagnosed with MS better manage their illness.

Both members of staff will be cycling from Bristol to Perranporth in Cornwall, a 187 mile journey which will take 4 days.

Nathan said: “All BS7 Gym members that have attended my classes know how much I like a challenge.  I like to push the boundaries and test myself and this is why I have chosen to take on this 4-day Bike Ride challenge.  There are only a few people on this planet that are up for crazy things like this, Jack is one of them.

“To make the ride even harder, Jack and I will be taking on this 187 mile journey on a BMX….yes…a BMX!  A small light weight bike, which will make the whole journey that much harder, especially the hill climbs.

“My decision to do this Charity Bike Ride is to raise awareness of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and to help raise as much money for BrAMS as possible.  I have been helping BrAMS for the last 2 years and have seen first-hand how the excellent work carried out by their staff has such a positive impact on many of the MS patients lives"

Training blog

"My training didn't get off to the best start as I suffered with a chest infection, but I have recently got a few long bike rides under my belt and feeling good. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be increasing the training and really testing myself in preparation for the ride"

Nathan and Jack would be hugely grateful for any donations, big or small, from BS7 Gym members. A donation form is on the reception desk of BS7 Gym or you can donate online, click here.
