What better way to celebrate a National Day of Fitness than to cycle the distance between Bristol and London!
That was the challenge set by the fitness instructors to members of BS7 Gym on Wednesday 7th September.
Could the members complete the 180km distance on a single stationary bike between 7am-10pm?
With the help from players and staff of Gloucestershire Cricket, local traders on Gloucester Road and lots of pedal power from BS7 Gym members, the target distance was successfully achieved and by closing time of the gym at 10pm, the total distance was a magnificent 198km!
Nathan Walsh, BS7 Gym manager, said “We wanted to organise a challenging and fun event to raise awareness about National Fitness Day.”
“It was a super effort by everyone who cycled and I was delighted to have the support of our local community and local traders from Gloucester Road. Each individual was only allowed 10 minutes on the bike, so it was a real team effort throughout the day. We are already planning a couple more events before Christmas.”
Nathan, added “Thanks to the staff from Room 212, Joe’s Bakery and also BrAMS charity for getting involved and helping us reach an incredible distance!”
